The Magic School Bus meets Reading Rainbow in this wacky library show for kids ages four to ten. Hosted by two Brooklyn Public Library children’s librarians, the show is designed to encourage a love of reading, increase kids’ confidence and introduce young listeners to the world of work … with lots of great songs and funny jokes, of course!

Rafael, the Musician & the Whistling Pigeon

Meet Rafael, a ten-year-old kid living in Brooklyn. He loves drawing, doing the Rubik's cube, and playing cello. When Rafael joins the Page Flipper Club, he gets to interview the bassist with The Roots and save the day by helping a pigeon find her way out of the library!

Ada, the Surgeon & the Headless Skeleton

Meet Ada, an eight-year-old kid living in Brooklyn. She loves sewing, making graphic novels, and playing with her friends. When Ada joins the Page Flipper Club, she gets to interview a surgeon and save the day by rescuing a headless skeleton!

Meet Euna, an eight-year-old kid who loves rainbow loom, inventing things, and doing the monkey bars! When Librarian Rachel freezes on top of the highest monkey bars, Euna thinks on her feet and designs a solution to help Rachel realize her dream.

What is the age range for your show?

Kids ages four to ten, plus their grownsups!

Who are the people on the show?

We feature real people just like you in our podcast! Our two hosts, Rachel and Sheneatha, are librarians at BPL, and all the kid voices on the show are real kids who live right here in Brooklyn, and across the country! We also invite grownups onto the show who really do work in the jobs they talk about. 

I want to be on the show! How do I do that?

You can fill out this form with your grownup and record yourself saying the things you love to do! Or, you can email an audio recording to podcasts [at] bklynlibrary [dot] org. Your audio recording could be used in our "Things That Make You Go Ooh" song!
