Located two blocks from the childhood home of Jackie Robinson and within walking distance of the world’s first solar-powered home, Rugby Library is a beloved civic institution in East Flatbush. When Rugby opened in 1957, its interior was perhaps the most colorful of any library in New York, with modern furniture in bright reds, yellows and blues. The branch still catches the eye of visitors, including those who attend Story Time and Ready Math, two of its most popular programs.
