One-on-One Assistance

Get free one-on-one resume help, education and career advice, interviewing prep, LinkedIn profile tips, and more with help from a Job Information Resource Librarian. We provide Resume & Career Help multiple days a week at several branch locations. Please note that these days and times are subject to occasional changes. Call the branch go to our events calendar to confirm the times listed in the link above.

Meet with experienced mentors from SCORE for free, personalized business advice. Book an appointment at the Central Library by going to SCORE NYC and clicking "Find a Mentor." Mentors also take walk-in appointments if they do not have an appointment, but booking an appointment is the only way to guarantee time with a mentor. SCORE mentors are available at the Central Library in the Information Commons Meeting Room 3 on:

  • Mondays from 10:00AM to 2:00PM
  • Tuesdays from 5:00PM to 9:00PM
  • Wednesdays from 10:00AM to 2:00PM

Take a step towards financial stability with the help of a counselor from Bedford-Stuyvesant Restoration's Financial Empowerment Center. These counselors can advise you on issues ranging from budgeting,repairing your credit, and reducing debt. Appointments are required for this service, and please call the Bedford-Stuyvesant Restoration at 718.636.6994 to make an appointment at the Central Library. Financial counseling sessions will take place in Information Commons Meeting Room 3 on:

  • Tuesdays from 10:00AM to 4:00PM
