With a large collection of print and online financial resources and free counseling services, finding the information and developing the skills you need to have a savvy relationship with your finances can be easy at Central Library’s Business & Career Center.

What We Do

Take steps towards financial stability by meeting with a financial coach.

The Financial Coaching Corps of The Community Service Society of New York provides free and confidential help in developing positive financial skills, including:

  • Improving credit by obtaining, reviewing and repairing credit reports;
  • Using formal banking services and avoiding fringe services;
  • Reducing debt by developing a debt management plan;
  • Creating and using budgets to manage finances;
  • Increasing savings to build assets;
  • Applying for public benefits.

One-on-one financial coaching is offered by appointment on Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00AM to 1:30PM at the Business & Career Center. Visit to make an appointment.

  • During tax season get free assistance filing your taxes from organizations such as AARP and the Food Bank.
