On April 27, 2017, Brooklyn Public Library's Annual Gala raised more than $830,000 to support the Library's critical programs and services, including early childhood programming, mobile libraries, free legal assistance and new library materials.

450 guests celebrated the Library under the domes at Weylin in Williamsburg. We honored two special guests: Brooklyn Public Library trustee, accomplished restaurateur and leader in the cultural and community life of New York City, Peter Aschkenasy, and the groundbreaking actress, playwright and author Anna Deavere Smith. Following the dinner and program, everyone danced the night away to the musical stylings of DJ FRITZo.

One of the night’s inspiring themes was the power of community. If you'd like to learn more about our programs and services, or get involved with the BPL community, please contact Lauren Arana, Director of Individual Giving, at larana@bklynlibrary.org or 718.230.2009.
