Are you looking to earn your high school diploma by taking the High School Equivalency (HSE) exam?

Brooklyn Public Library's Adult Learning program makes it possible for you to obtain your High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma via two different pathways:

  1. GED exam (Central, Pacific, and New Lots Libraries)
  2. NEDP stands for National External Diploma Program

PAPER-BASED GED EXAM

Test Dates: Applications must be submitted a month before the exam date or you will be scheduled for the next available date. No one is allowed to show up without receiving a confirmation email. Seats are limited and applicants are scheduled by the order their application is recieved (completed applications only).

Paper-based exams are administered twice per quarter at the Pacific Library.

Follow the steps below to schedule your PBT GED exam.

  3. Fill out PBT GED exam application: Paper-Based-Test-Application.pdf

2025 PBT test dates - applications are due one month before the scheduled test date.

August 30; 10:00 AM & October 4; 10:00 AM 

COMPUTER-BASED GED EXAM

For computer-based test at the New Lots, Central, or Pacific Library - create an account at GED.com to schedule your exam. Tests are administered monthly. Check the GED portal for available testing seats.
