Brooklyn Public Library, in collaboration with Prospect Park Alliance, will launch the fourth semester of University Open Air, a free series of classes taught by professors, researchers, and academics who were trained outside of the U.S. The two-week semester begins on Thursday, September 9th. Classes will take place outside along the lawn surrounding the Boathouse in Prospect Park* located at 101 East Drive, Brooklyn, NY 11225

Please note, while UOA courses aim to equip students with valuable skills, they are non-accredited.

For general questions or press inquiries, please email: [email protected]

*In cases of rain, classes will be canceled. Registered patrons will be notified by email on the morning of each course day and are also encouraged to check the UOA webpage and BPL Presents’ Facebook and Twitter pages for updates.

We are closely monitoring the rise of COVID-19 cases largely due to increases in the more contagious delta variant and the large number of people who are still unvaccinated.

We will continue to observe social distancing measures as well as requiring masks for participants. Classes will be capped at 12 participants per course to ensure the safety of our professors and participants. Safety guidelines are subject to change based on the latest guidance from public health professionals and elected officials.
