Town Hall Debate at the New Utrecht Branch!
WE'RE CONTINUING TO BRIDGE THE GAP BETWEEN TEENS AND OLDER ADULTS!
JOIN THE TOWN HALL DEBATE IN-PERSON AT THE NEW UTRECHT LIBRARY!
- No teams - the audience members/attendees are the participants.
- No judges, winners, or losers - just a moderator to keep the pace (and keep the peace).
- Come prepared to speak for or against the resolutions.
The spirit of a Town Hall Debate is mutual enlightenment, speaking your mind, listening and attempting to learn something about what makes other people “tick.” It’s also a chance for you to gain appreciation for the views on the other side of the issue.
We want to hear your comments and the questions you will raise based on your personal views. We want to hear your reasons in support of your position, and we expect you to respect those with a differing opinion – the library is a safe space for sharing and learning!
The 2 resolutions (topics of discussion) for you to choose from for this Town Hall Debate are:
Social media has improved human communication, or
Cyberbullying is worse than face-to-face bullying.
Register on the right panel. Prepare to speak for 4 minutes and come ready to share your thoughts!
