As Seen By Others/And Then What Is
This project incorporates dance on video and multiple photographs layered to create composite images. Some of the images that appear in As Seen By Others / And Then What Is were captured during the pandemic period of protests in Cadman Plaza Memorial Park Conservancy. Throughout, this project will be accompanied by music and original text, that frames a narrative and generates contemplation around assumptions of ethnicities, races and individuals based solely on appearances—steering audiences to previously unrealized personal beliefs and hidden racism.
The performance will be followed with a discussion and talkback with the creator, Leslie Arlette Boyce.
