Artists on Site celebrate heritage

In partnership with The Free Black Women’s Library, this workshop is a celebration of Black women’s voices, resilience, and artistry in theater. Through monologues from Intimate Apparel, Trouble in Mind, and Wine in the Wilderness, participants will explore the rich tapestry of Black womanhood—past, present, and future. Using these powerful works as a foundation, we will craft original pieces that connect deeply to personal and cultural identity, honoring the stories of those who came before us while imagining the possibilities of who we can become. This workshop is a space for liberation, self-expression, and empowerment—where storytelling becomes an act of resistance, healing, and transformation. Join us in weaving together history, authenticity, and the future of Black women’s narratives in theater.
