Roundabout Theater Presents Artistic Workshop Series at Macon Library
Roundabout Teaching Artists will curate a Fall series of artistic workshops designed to spark the creative process through storytelling, ensemble building, and community connections. Using Roundabout’s Theatrical Teaching Framework, a pedagogical lens developed by Roundabout that centers learners as artists, leverages their skills as a theatre maker, and celebrates the process of artistic creation, program participants will explore the world of plays to begin to create their own original piece of community theatre.
In the following inter-generational workshops, participants will collaborate to create their own story, essay, monologue, play, song, poem, speech, and/or theatrical performance which will culminate in a communal sharing. They will explore primary sources from the Brooklyn Public Library branch and the 2024-2025 season productions of Yellow Face, The Counter, and English at Roundabout Theatre Company, along with various cultural and art movements as inspirational spark points.
