In honor of Poetry Month, Brighton Beach is hosting an exciting workshop and reading series with local Brooklyn poets. Join us for a poetry writing workshop led by artist and writer Kaur Alia Ahmed. Hone your writing skills or get a little help trying out poetry for the first time in community.
Please register for the event ahead of time. All experiences levels are welcome!
Everyone is encouraged to attend the Brighton Beach Poetry Showcase on April 24th, 6-7:30 PM at Freak Bar. The program will feature readings by Kaur Alia Ahmed, Miller Oberman, and Sheila Maldonado, followed by a Q&A with the audience.
Kaur Alia Ahmed is an artist and writer living in Brooklyn. Their work has been shown with Entrance Gallery, Interstate Projects, Rhizome, the Poetry Project, BOMB Magazine, and their first book, Cursive Paradise, will be published this spring with Wendy’s Subway.
