A probing look into the uncanny life of national treasure and gonzo journalism inventor Dr. Hunter S. Thompson, directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Alex Gibney (Taxi to the Dark Side). Narrated by Johnny Depp and featuring interviews with Ralph Steadman, George McGovern, Jann Wenner, Jimmy Buffett, Jimmy Carter, Pat Buchanan, Sonny Barger, Timothy Crouse, and Tom Wolfe, this documentary the major touchstones in Thompson’s life—his intense relationship with the Hell's Angels, his near-successful bid for the office of sheriff in Aspen, his involvement in Senator McGovern’s presidential campaign, and much more.
