THE L.E.N.S. METHOD: 2-Part Creative Photography Workshop for Adults
Please join us on Saturday, November 2nd for one or both of these inspiring creative photography workshops. This program is a condensed version of a popular spring series of creative photography workshops, led by Carey Kirkella, called the L.E.N.S. Method. LENS stands for light, empathy, now, and storytelling.
Workshop 1: L.E.N.S. Method Mindfulness Practice Photo Workshop (smartphone camera-friendly) 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM
Carey will share an inspirational slideshow describing the LENS Method process and examples of how you can slow down and connect with the energy of nature through practicing this intentional creative mindfulness activity. It is about connecting with your senses in nature and then making photos inspired by themes such as 'grounding' and 'flow'.
Later, we will gather together outside in the library garden and Carey will lead you through the practice. She will also share some tips for how you can make better photos with your smartphone.
12:30 - 1:15 Break
Workshop 2: L.E.N.S. Method Visual Gratitude Practice Photo Workshop (smartphone camera-friendly) 1:15 PM - 3:00 PM
During this workshop, Carey will share inspiration and practical tools to help you begin to create your own powerful visual gratitude practice inspired by what she calls ‘the 3 L’s framework’: Photos of Light • Love • Laughter.
Carey will also demonstrate an introduction to how you can create your own gratitude-themed photo book, pairing your photos with positive quotes and affirmations, using a free browser-based software called Canva. Participants will have an opportunity to learn some technical tips and practice making photos.

BKLYN Incubator is supported by generous funding provided by the Charles H.Revson Foundation.
