For National Disability Employment Awareness Month on:
Friday, October 4, 2024 between 2:00-4:00 pm in Fort Hamilton Library meeting room drop in to meet representatives from these local organizations that serve jobseekers with disabilities:
GoodTemps - the temporary staffing service of Goodwill Industries, and the largest provider of diversified staffing in the region.
AHRC NYC - providing job-search supports for those with developmental disabilities and others. Services include Project SEARCH, Partnership for Inclusive Internships, TechXpert, Job Club, and Day Hab without Walls.
ACCES-VR - assists individuals with disabilities to achieve and maintain employment and to support independent living through training, education, rehabilitation, and career development.
VISIONS/Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired - provides tools and training to help people with vision loss live more independently.
Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities (MOPD) - offers helpful resources to the community while launching our own initiatives to make NYC the most accessible city in the world.
Advanced registration is required, as space is limited. For more information or to RSVP via telephone call (718) 748-6919. Sign language interpreter and Spanish translator available.
