At this special session hear from members of the Golden State Readers, a California based youth led organization who are committed to promoting the free access to books and combatting literary censorship.
You'll learn about their upcoming national Break the Tape campaign and how you can become a #BreakTheTape Ambassador.

Join to discuss intellectual freedom issues, your favorite books, and all-things BPL's Books Unbanned initiative. Connect with peers across the country and learn how you can support youth in protecting the right to read whatever they choose.

Golden State Readers speakers:
Gianna Goodman-Bhyat is a senior in high school who currently lives in Los Angeles. She is the co-President of the Golden State Readers, a California-based coalition of students working to fight book bans nationwide, and runs a Banned Books Club at her high school.
Elizabeth Goldman is a sophomore at UC Berkeley who has been dedicated to fighting book bans for the last two years. Alongside the Golden State Readers and PEN America, she has helped plan multiple community summits to educate local peers and aided in the creation and facilitation of the Golden State Readers’ 1000 Books Fund and #BreaktheTape campaign.
