A Celebration of Uzbek Art and Culture: Uzbek Games, Folk Dances, and Puppet Show

all ages arts and crafts Heritage Ambassadors performance welcoming week

Come and learn about the rich and diverse culture and history of Uzbekistan. At this Heritage Ambassador program, put on by puppeteer Oleg Ovcharenko, the whole family can learn to play traditional Uzbek games and take in folk dances. Prizes will be awarded! The event is recommended for ages 8 and up.

Oleg will also share a video presentation about the history of his nation. The fun concludes with a live puppet show performance of “The Magic Pomegranate,” a traditional Uzbek fairy tale.

This event coincides with Uzbekistan’s 33rd Independence Day celebration, happening earlier in the month.
