Book Discussion Group: Join our virtual book discussion group on The Serial Garden by Joan Aiken! Share your thoughts on the book and get to know other readers in your community.

This is the first complete collection of Joan Aiken's beloved Armitage stories--and it includes four new, unpublished stories. After Mrs. Armitage makes a wish, the Armitage family has "interesting and unusual" experiences every Monday (and the occasional Tuesday). The Board of Incantation tries to take over their house to use as a school for young wizards; the Furies come to stay; and a cutout from a cereal box leads into a beautiful and tragic palace garden. Charming and magical, the uncommon lives of the Armitage family will thrill and delight readers young and old.

Place your copy on hold with our online catalog or visit the branch to check it out. No need to finish the book beforehand. All are welcome!

You must pre-register for this discussion. A reminder and discussion questions will be sent the day before the discussion, and  the Zoom link a few hours before the discussion. Email tmantrone@bklynlibrary.org with any questions.

We will return to Diana Wynne Jones in our May discussion with "The Pinhoe Egg."
