Join award-winning artist and author Nikki Williams as we celebrate Black Poetry Day (October 17th) and Black Soul Music titles of the 1960's and 1970's by creating the art form known as the "Choreopoem" (first coined by Playwright, Poet, and Writer, Ms. Ntozake Shange) in a marathon "Soul-a-thon" style presentation.
Please know that we presented this program as part of our literary festival on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at Denny Farrell Riverbank State Park. The workshop is part of a series of programs "Spreadin' Jam Joy & Jive - A Sweet R&B Ride on the Soul of My 45's" that was first presented on June 6, 2024 at the National Jazz Museum in Harlem.
