Contribute your photos to our 2024 ANYONE/ANYWHERE exhibit...Storytime
ANYONE/ANYWHERE is a traveling pop-up exhibition series, curated by photographer Anjelica Jardiel and established in 2017. In 2023 ANYONE/ANYWHERE partnered with the Williamsburgh Library and Bklyn Incubator to offer photography programming and develop an exhibit.
Every ANYONE/ANYWHERE exhibit centers around a theme. Photographers of all skill levels and walks of life, using any equipment (including cell phones!), are invited to submit photos based on the theme. The guiding belief of ANYONE/ANYWHERE is that anyone can be a photographer and create art.
We are excited to welcome ANYONE/ANYWHERE back to BPL and to share our theme for 2024's exhibit, Storytime.
Storytime of course is a library tradition that has inspired decades of children, and continues to do so. For the Storytime theme we invite photographers of all ages to send in photos that convey or depict a story.
Your photo may capture a fleeting image, or you can design and stage it. It can be a story you know well, or one you can only guess at. Some viewers may 'read' the story behind an image differently than others. All perspectives and interpretations are welcome!
Submitted photographs will be printed out and exhibited at the Williamsburgh Library for one week in October, 2024 (date tbd). At our closing event visitors will be invited to take a photo they love off the wall and bring a work of art home with them. You may even be able to meet the photographer and have a conversation about why you connected with their photo.
