Our libraries have already sustained cuts that forced them to drastically reduce spending on collections, minimize spending on building maintenance, as well as suspend seven-day service at all the libraries that offered it. If funding for the coming fiscal year is not restored, our libraries will have even fewer books, fewer resources available to all, and fewer days open every week. Brooklyn’s libraries are the cornerstone of my community, and additional budget cuts would harm real people who count on their vital services and programming. As the city continues to face challenges, it’s crucial that our public libraries are open and available to all who need them. Libraries are for everyone—and they are essential to protecting free and open access to knowledge and creating equal opportunity for all. In the past, you have shown a commitment to protecting libraries. I’m hoping you will renew that commitment by reversing cuts to library funding. Thank you, Send Your Message Leave this field blank
