Brooklyn Public Library gives patrons the option to receive instant access to our digital collection when they sign up online for a library card. This card type is called a Welcome Card. To receive a barcode and PIN during online signup, applicants must accept the prompt to share their computer's location.
Welcome Cards can be renewed online via My Account, by contacting the library, or by visiting any open BPL branch. In order to renew your Welcome Card online, you must enable location sharing from your device. Learn more.
