Collaging & Cooking with Dacha 46!
Join us for collage-making followed by a food demonstration by Brooklyn-based chef couple Jessica and Trina Quinn of Dach 46, a traveling pop-up that explores Eastern European cuisine through the lens of the Queer Jewish experience
We will have collage materials and writing prompts centered around cultural heritage. Please bring any recipes or photos that you would want to use for your collage!
After collaging, chefs Jessica and Trina will demonstrate how to make Shuba, a vibrant Eastern European dish with rich history.
Participants will also have the option to submit their collages to our Community Food Collage Zine!
Dacha 46 is a Brooklyn based traveling pop up experience specializing in private events, banquets, and pastry from NYC chef couple Jessica and Trina Quinn. We explore Eastern European cuisine through the lens of the Queer Jewish experience, reclaiming culture with pride, flavor, and joy. Jessica is a first-generation Soviet Jew whose family made a home in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Brighton Beach in the 1980s. Dacha 46 honors that legacy while reimagining it in a way that reflects our family and our Queer identity. It is an edible love letter to everything we were told we could not be. Tradition meets rebellion meets celebration.
We are here to make space, throw a party, and feed the people loudly and unapologetically!
