Folk it Up at the Brooklyn Folk Arts & Artists Series

Brooklyn Public Library, in collaboration with the Brooklyn Arts Council and documentary professionals, present the Brooklyn Folk Arts & Artists Series—performances by 20 folk and traditional artists, with an emphasis on art forms in need of preservation. Launching this spring, the Brooklyn Folk Arts & Artists Series spotlights Brooklyn's immigrant communities historically underrepresented by cultural institutions.

The series kicks off with traditional dance and music from Uzbekistan by Marbarid Uzbek Dance Group at Sheepshead Bay Library, followed by the Urtiin duu, a form of Mongolian folk long song by Suvdaa Khereid, at Brighton Beach Library.
