The American fortune-telling business is a two-billion dollar-a-year industry, and while there may be some self-proclaimed psychics who are simply trying to make an honest living by offering advice and spiritual guidance to strangers, many others within the industry are the deliberate perpetrators of malicious fraud who prey upon the vulnerable and naive and whose intentions are as simple as they are nefarious: to separate the gullible from their money.
