Virtual Polish Book Club: Meet the author - Zyta Rudzka

 

Brooklyn Public Library invites you to the virtual book discussion club in Polish. The presented book is "Ten ma zęby kto się śmieje" by Zyta Rudzka, who will be present at this meeting.  This is the new book by an award-winning author, laureate of, among others Gdynia Literary Award and the City of Warsaw Literary Award Of Warsaw. In the novel, delightful with an unconventional form, Zyta Rudzka once again boldly experiments with language and captivates with an original, uncompromising style.

This is the story of the marriage of Wera and Karol. She works as a barber, and he is a jockey. Thet lived their entire lives together moving from wealth to poverty.
Now Wera visits her old lovers to get her husband's coffin shoes. It's hard to find good shoes for a dead man.
Rudzka, in her characteristic sharp style and with a sense of humor, presents a portrait of a strong and predatory woman who never lays down her arms.
