Unpacking the Issues: the Death Penalty
Join us for an informative and enjoyable session regarding issues that are currently affecting our society!
The death penalty, also referred to as capital punishment, is an egregious violation of civil rights and is contradictory with our political system's core principles. In principle, the capital punishment is inhuman, unjust, and inequitable. Through this program, Brooklyn Public Library Librarians of Tomorrow interns Amanpreet Kaur and Richard Zhao aim to avoid executions and pursue the elimination of the death penalty through education, reform, and activism against such a violent and inhumane practice.
This program for Teens will include a short presentation from the Librarians of Tomorrow interns, an open discussion, and finish by playing a Kahoot together to test your knowledge! This program is Part One of a Two session series. Please join us on Friday June 18th at 4:00 pm to explore a different social justice topic.
