University Open Air: A City of Immigrants: Changing the narrative
New York City is one of America’s most culturally diverse cities, but migrant narratives don’t always portray the immeasurable contribution of its more than three million foreign-born residents. Participants in this interactive discussion will explore how to change the narrative and highlight the cultural and economic contributions of the city’s immigrant community.
Denise Wiley is a journalist, public relations practitioner, and ESL instructor. Prior to moving to the US, Ms. Wiley lived in Japan where she taught business English, business communication and cultural awareness. She holds a BA in Media and Communication and is pursuing graduate study in international migration.
