University Open Air: Theater Workshop: Self-Discovery

**Please note: Due to the weather forecast and the anticipation of a thunderstorm later this morning, we have moved today’s classes to Central Library.  This course will take place in the Dweck Center's lobby located on the lower level of Central Library. You may access the Dweck Center from the main entrance taking the elevator or stairs down to the lower level or by the side entrance on Eastern Parkway immediately to the left of the main entrance and near the flag pole.

This workshop aims to bring students to the stage of discovering themselves through their vocal and physical abilities. This workshop will give the students an opportunity to travel through their bodies to the world of possibilities.

Asma Thabet is an actress, dancer, theatre teacher, director, and psychodramist graduated from The High Institute of Dramatic Arts in Tunisia. She has over twelve years of experience working in the professional theater, TV and cinema productions as an actor and director, and over six years in teaching theatre in the Arts Centres and Public High schools. ​ As an art activist, Asma committed to promoting empathy and investigating social, political, and human rights issues through theatre, She founded the non-profit organization Espwart, where she worked for five years as a volunteer psychodramist and director with teenagers surviving domestic abuse.

In collaboration with Prospect Park Alliance, Brooklyn Public Library presents University Open Air, a free, three-week series of classes beginning Tuesday, June 11th in Prospect Park’s former Rose Garden.
