Please, joing us for a conversation with Ewa Winnicka about her latest book "Miasteczko Panna Maria. Ślązacy na Dzikim Zachód" (Czarne, 2024) Ewa Winnicka tells the extraordinary fate of Silesian settlers, inscribing them in the history of Texas, the largest American state, which - as its residents convince - is the best in everything, from the number of universities to the condition of public toilets. This is where the future of America is decided, this is where the most cattle is bred, this is where the most famous cowboys come from, and this is where the largest oil deposits in the entire United States are located. This is also where the greatest patriots live. In the hearts of some of them there is a place for the old country, the home of their great-great-grandparents. And this story is about them.
