Teens DIY: Sewing Reusable Menstrual Pads 📅
May is Menstrual Health Awareness Month.
Teens, join us in the Teen Zone (Eco Lab 3) to make reusable menstruation pads. This is a gender inclusive event and open to anyone interested in learning more about menstrual hygiene and period poverty.
This program is a collaboration between our Young Adult Librarian, Shelda Z. and our Adult Librarian, Molloy Rogers.
Molloy Rogers, a BPL Adult Librarian is a maker, artist, and designer. She learned to knit and crochet from her grandmother and taught herself to sew, spin yarn, dye fiber, and make felt. In 2012, she received the Samuel A. Almon scholarship to Penland School of Crafts, where she studied the applications of natural dyes, and the Shibori process as applied to weaving.
