Tai Chi for Fall Prevention
Did you know that Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention is one of the best things you can do to prevent falls? This evidence-based exercise program reduces the risk of falling by improving strength, balance, flexibility, and coordination. Join Gia Ramsey, Injury Prevention/Education Outreach Coordinator at Maimonides Medical Center, and Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention instructor for this twice a week, 8-week progressive program. Each session includes a comprehensive warm-up, learning one to two movements, and cool-down, building to a full 12-movement combination. Modifications will be available to accommodate those with mobility issues.
Zoom will be used to host this program, so you will need either a computer with audio or a telephone in order to participate. The Zoom Link will be emailed.
This program is supported by the National Network of Libraries of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health.
