Join us for this 8 week series with Victoria Carrique

New Utrecht Library Adult In-Person Summer Studio Art Program is returning this summer with an earlier time, and two-hour sessions! Join us as we study two dynamic American Artists: Jackson Pollack and Georgia O’Keeffe. Although both were contemporary artists of the 20th Century, they had two completely different styles. We will compare and contrast, and learn to paint like both. First, we will explore the splatter style of “Action Jackson” and will paint using golf balls and marbles, instead of brushes and spatulas! Next, we will look deeply into the heart of a flower, and will use dramatic colors and organic shapes to create abstract compositions. Continuing the theme of nature, we’ll end the semester making various sized flowers out of colorful tissue paper.

No registration Required.
