Lamine Thiam is a master Senegalese dance and drum teacher in New York City who comes from a long lineage of griots. As a dancer, he shares with audiences the deep connections of dance and music to everyday life in his home country of Senegal. In this special family program, Lamine will perform traditional West African drum songs and dances while inviting the audience to dance along. As Lamine says, "African dance is love.”
