SOA Presents Creative Aging: Acrylics Made Easy

Join us for this 9 sessions workshop to learn about acrylics painting with Leonid Filitsyan. This workshop will end with a culminating event in which participants will exhibit their best pieces of art to share with family and friends. 

Participants will work in two genres: Landscape and Still Life.

Participants will:

  • Drawing still life and land scape. 
  • Initially, outline subjects on future painting using a pencil. 
  • Draw using acrylic paint, progressing from simple to complex. 
  • Enhance self-esteem through the acquisition of new skills learned
  • Increase self - awareness

This acrylic painting class is for beginners and for those who have experience in painting and/or drawing allowing students to experiment using their previous skills or learning something that is totally new.

Supplies Needed:

  • Pencil
  • Eraser
  • Canvas on cardboard {approximately 9X12}
  • Acrylic Paint: red, green, blue, yellow, brown, black, purple, white; more color variations is better.
  • Brushes: Flat (approximate size 1", 3/4", 3/8", 1/4"); Round (10, 7, 4, 1, 00)
  • Palette {white, plastic for mixing colors}

All art supplies can be purchased at any of the following: MIchael's, Blicks, Walmart, Amazon. Any art store of your choice. No need to purchase expensive supplies. 

Registration Required. Zoom link will be sent by 10am the morning of the program to those registered.
