Yale PhD students talk about Science in the News
For all of human history, we have looked to the stars with wonder and curiosity. Stars and planets that we can see have inspired mythology and helped us navigate our own planet. But what exists beyond our small corner of the universe? How can we observe things that we can’t see? In this month’s Science in the News talk Yale scientists will tell us how unseen objects can uncover hidden secrets of the universe. You’ll learn about the possible existence of a new planet - ‘Planet 9’ - and about telescopes buried deep in polar ice that help us see beyond our galaxy.
Speakers will be Tiger Lu (PhD student, Dept. Astronomy) and Jorge Torres (Postdoctoral Scholar, Dept. of Physics). You can see a short preview of their talks on YouTube here.
Yale Science Communication is a graduate student organization that presents cutting-edge science to the general public.
