Whether your hands already know how to heal what is broken, or you have a treasured object waiting for its second chance, we want to hear from you!
Brooklyn Public Library invites you to the Repurposeful Ancestry Lab—a free, creative community space at Flatbush Library where we celebrate our heritage through the everyday items we rescue and repair. Through this program, we will share stories and skills, host hands-on workshops, build a community materials library, and create a digital map of reuse/repair practices in Brooklyn, celebrating the unsung artists who carry on these repurposeful traditions.
Our first public session will be on August 13th at the Flatbush Branch of the Brooklyn Public Library. You are welcome to bring a broken or repaired object with a special story behind it.
