Repair Hub Workshop: Home Repairs and Maintenance

Sat, Sep 17 2022
10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Greenpoint Library

Bklyn Incubator environment Repair Hub skillshare

In this 2-hour hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to fill cracks and holes in your walls. Whether the size of a pin or a grapefruit, the hole can be patched—and you can do it. During this workshop, you'll learn the proper tools, materials, and techniques, and practice on real drywall. We will also cover installing anchors and repairing the holes they leave.

Space is limited to 12 participants, allowing for close instruction and feedback. All materials will be provided.

For this reason, please only register if you plan to attend! We've worked hard to prepare a great workshop for you, and are arranging materials based on the number of registered attendees. If your plans change and you can’t make it, please email athompson@bklynlibrary.org at least 48 hours before the event so we can add someone off the waitlist.

Mask wearing is highly encouraged at Greenpoint Library.

About the expert:

Billy Schultz is an artist, independent producer, and educator who has worked as a handyperson for the past 20 years. In that time he has fixed doors that refuse to close, replaced shattered panes of glass, re-siliconed around mildewy bathtubs, painted hundreds of apartments, cracked the code on how to hang shelves on walls made of crumbling plaster, and patched and filled thousands of holes and cracks in walls. He learned these skills watching and helping his dad fix up a house as a kid, getting odd jobs around his neighborhood, and during an Americorps stint with Habitat for Humanity.

In his regular life he works as a STEAM teacher, produces a dance game show called Dancify That, and plays the tenor banjo. You can learn more about him at billyschultz.com
