live music performance Women's History Month

Rebel Squeezebox: a dazzling world music journey through the histories of women who revolutionized the accordion.

What is the accordion and who plays it?? In celebration of Women's History Month, Broadway accordionist and childhood music educator Mary Spencer Knapp takes us on a musical journey to meet some of the squeezebox’s most influential players from around the world. Together we will learn about Creole zydeco music from Louisiana’s legendary Queen Ida, experimental music from the legacy of Pauline Oliveros and merengue tipico from Republica Dominicana’s Fefita La Grande! Get ready to dance, shake... and squeeze!

Geared for children, but all are welcome!

Performer was out sick. Instead we had Magic Meets Science: Brilliant Women Who Paved the Way.

Learn about the lives of women in science and magic - from the first moments that inspired them to their greatest accomplishments of impossible magic tricks and scientific discoveries. Join Eileen the Explorer as she shares their science and their stories, and performs plenty of magic tricks along the way. She'll even teach you a trick or two to show your friends! Come be a part of the magic, shout the magic words, and have a blast with the whole family.
