Read to a dog at the library! Our certified therapy dog Flash Gordon loves to be read to.
Kids can make enormous strides in building self-esteem and confidence while acquiring a love of books by reading to a therapy dog. Utilizing a registered therapy animal and their human teammate in a calm and relaxing atmosphere, this program helps improve children’s reading, communication, and social skills.
Sign up on the day of the program for a 10-min slot by signing up at the info desk, or calling the library at 718-935-0244 between 10-11am. Space is limited to six children per session. You must arrive 5 minutes prior to your assigned slot or you will lose your place to the waitlist.
This program is a partnership with Pet Partners.
