Join the public engagement session hosted by the NYC Office of Technology and Innovation (OTI) team at the Brooklyn Heights Library on Thursday, August 22 from 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM to learn more about what computer vision technology is, how NYC is using it, and share your opinions to inform its future use.
Gift Cards: $50 gift cards are available to the first 15 participants. To register visit this link.
Project Focus: NYC's Department of Transportation (DOT) & OTI are piloting computer vision technology to inform how to improve street design by placing 12 sensors around NYC to measure transportation usage.
Session Details: Participants interested in seeing the sensor in action will meet OTI's Smart Cities team at the corner of Smith Street and Schermerhorn Street at 4:00 PM (outside of White Noise Coffee Co). If there are mobility barriers, please meet the Smart Cities team directly at the Brooklyn Heights Library at 4:30 PM.
The groups will converge at the Brooklyn Heights Public Library at 4:30 PM and listen to a presentation from OTI describing the project and technology used. Participants will be expected to share their opinions on what they have learned. For more information about the NYC Smart City Testbed program, see Testbed.cityofnewyork.us
