Artist on Site Residency: Pop-up Exhibition: The NEA (Network of Extraordinary Artists)
Join BPL artist-in-residence Nathan Sinai Rayman and his project GALLERY, a moveable gallery space, as he presents the Network of Extraordinary Artists in a series of rotating exhibitions throughout the day. These pop-up art shows present the work of artists applying for the "Aliens with Extraordinary Abilities" visa who live near Saratoga Branch.
Families are invited to make artwork imagining and depicting an Alien with Extraordinary Abilities. This playful art activity connects the theme of this year's summer reading campaign (outer space) with questions of immigration.
This event is part of the Summer Reading Kickoff Celebration.
GALLERY will be on view at Saratoga branch through the end of June, featuring rotating exhibitions.
The Artists on Site Residency program is a partnership between Brooklyn Public Library and Brooklyn Arts Council.
THIS PROGRAM IS SUPPORTED, IN PART, BY PUBLIC FUNDS FROM THE NEW YORK CITY DEPARTMENT OF CULTURAL AFFAIRS
