Lunar New Year
Celebrate the Year of the Horse with a focused nine-week journey into painting horses in Chinese brush and watercolor. We will study the horse’s structure, movement, and spirit through Eastern and Western examples — from classical ink horses to modern watercolor interpretations. Learn to capture speed, strength, and personality with a few well-placed strokes. We will balance Xieyi (freehand expression) with basic anatomy so your horses feel alive, not just correctly drawn.
The instructor will teach via Zoom. Class size is limited. Registered at Dyker Library Information Desk to participate in-person at the library where painting supplies and technical set up will be available.
Classes meet on Wednesdays 12pm-2pm on the following dates:
- January 14, 21, 28, 2026
- February 4, 11, 18, 25, 2026
- March 4, 11, 2026
Students wishing to participate off-site are required to register online separately and provide their own painting supplies. Class size is also limited.
