New York City History Day Kickoff & Info Session
The Brooklyn Public Library’s Center for Brooklyn History (CBH) is host to NYC History Day! Come to the History Day kickoff to learn about the contest and this year's theme, see projects and get inspiration for your own NYC History Day journey! Students, Teachers, and Family's welcome.
New York City middle and high schoolers are invited to do original research on a historical topic of their choice and make their own exhibition, performance, documentary, website, or paper. Winners from NYCHD will have a chance to compete at the State and potentially National level. All participants will be able to gain important research skills, connect with amazing New York City cultural institutions, and have fun!
Drop by the Center for Brooklyn History on Thursday, September 18th starting at 4:30 PM to:
- learn about this year's theme, Revolution, Reaction, Reform in History.
- see examples of amazing award-winning projects and hear from the students who created them.
- Talk to the NYCHD Coordinator and find out how they support teachers and students on their NYCHD journey.
- eat, drink, and meet fellow history lovers in a beautiful, landmarked building.
We hope to see you there! In the meantime, check out our NYCHD website to learn about the contest. You can always ask us questions by emailing nychd@bklynlibrary.org.
New York City History Day is generously supported by the Rose M. Badgeley Residuary Charitable Trust and the Morris and Alma Schapiro Fund.
