Red Hook Library

arts and crafts STEM & STEAM summer reading

Dive deep into the midnight zone as we explore this hidden ocean habitat and the mysterious animals that live there. We start our journey almost 100 years ago when explorers boarded the Bathysphere to descend 3,028 feet into the deep. Following their expedition, we examine microscopic animal adaptations and create our own deep sea inspired works of art that glow in the dark!

Major support provided by New York Life Foundation, the 2019 city-wide sponsor for the Summer Reading Program.

Lead support for Brooklyn Public Library's Summer Reading 2019 program is provided by the National Grid Foundation.

The program is supported by Con Edison, Macy's, Barclays Center and the Brooklyn Nets. CBS2/WLNY is the official media partner for Summer Reading 2019.
