Music Production at the Library: Music Theory - Melody, Harmony, Rhythm
Learn the basics of Western music theory, right here at the Brooklyn Public Library. This workshop will cover the fundamentals of understanding musical forms through many genres, from pop, rock, R&B, rap, and dance music -- most styles of music have more in common than you might think. Learn how to analyze the structure of a melody, how to understand chords and harmonies, and how to describe rhythmic patterns. Using GarageBand as a tool, we will listen, analyze, and create new sounds together.
Registration for guaranteed access to a laptop is closed, but there's no attendance limit. Feel free to come and listen or bring your own MacBook to follow along.
