Celebrate Pride Month and Juneteenth with the Kings Bay Library!

 

Kings Bay Movie Afternoon for Teens and Adults celebrates Pride Month and Juneteenth with a showing of The Color Purple (2023). Grab-n-Go Bags for Teens and Adults will be available to take home after the movie as supplies last. 

 

The Color Purple (2023): A decades-spanning tale of love and resilience and of one woman's journey to freedom. Celie faces many hardships in her life, but ultimately finds remarkable strength and hope in the unbreakable bonds of sisterhood. Based on the novel by Alice Walker and on the musical stage play and book (of the musical stage play) by Marsha Norman, music and lyrics by Brena Russell, Allee Willis, Stephen Bray.

Starring: Taraji P. Henson, Danielle Brooks, Colman Domingo, Corey Hawkins, Gabriella Wilson "H.E.R.", Halle Bailey, Louis Gossett Jr., Phylicia Pearl Mpasi, Ciara, Jon Batiste, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, and Fantasia Barrino.

 

 

 

 

MPA rating: PG-13; for mature thematic content, sexual content, violence and language 

This is a program geared towards patrons ages 13 and up. A library card and registration are not required to attend.
