April title: Sarah’s Key by Tatiana de Rosnay
This novel tells the intertwined stories of Sarah, a young Jewish girl living in Paris during World War II, and Julia, an American born journalist living in modern day Paris. When Julia is assigned to cover the anniversary of the 1942 Vel d’Hiv, she uncovers a shameful history – of Nazi France, of her home life, and of Sarah, who lived in Julia’s home until the day of her family’s arrests. Throughout the novel, Julia works to unearth a history that has been forgotten, while Sarah exemplifies the importance of always remembering.
Books are available at the Information desk on a first-come basis.
Morning Coffee Club members are not required to have finished or to have liked the book to participate in the discussion. The only requirement is to treat others with respect in following library policy.
