Join Flatbush Library for a free certification course for Mental Health First Aid from the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. This full-day course introduces participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental illnesses, builds understanding of their impact, and overviews common supports.
Mental Health First Aid will help you to:
- Identify signs and symptoms of anxiety, depression, and other mental illnesses.
- Learn how to respond if you see these signs in youth, friends and loved ones.
- Connect someone to appropriate professional, peer, social, and self-help care.
Participants get a 3-year Nationally recognized Certification. Mental Health First Aid is included on the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices (NREPP).
