Meet the Authors: Conversations with Chinese Writers in New York 对话纽约中文作家
The American Association of Chinese Writers (AACW), which has over 130 members across the U.S. and Canada, will be hosting a conversation series and Q&A with the Dyker Library patrons. On June 10, 2023, New York-based AACW Board members, Dr. Weizhong Cai, Dr. Wenxin Li, Ms. Jane Tang, and Mr. Aiguo Ying, along with a few prominent members, will be at the library to kick off the series with the topic AACW and Our Chinese Writing.
Learn about AACW’s founding, how it functions, and how to apply for membership and submit work for publication. The Board members will introduce their annual anthologies, AACW’s weekly social media literary journal East West, and their website www.aacw.us.
AACW members will also share their individual journeys from amateurs to accomplished authors and their works of various genres and styles. Some AACW books will be on display for patrons to borrow, purchase, and win as door prizes.
北美中文作家协会（AACW）目前拥有130多名分布于美国和加拿大的作家会员。6月10日，AACW纽约地区的四名理事，蔡维忠博士，李文心博士，唐简女士和应帆先生，以及纽约地区的一些会员，将莅临本馆，开展我们“对话纽约中文作家”系列的第一讲： AACW和我们的中文写作。
对话内容将包括AACW的创会过程，运作机制，以及普通读者/作者怎样申请会员并投稿。几位理事会介绍北美中文作家作品年选 (2021, 2020, 2019)，“东西”会刊、“北美文学家园”公众号以及协会网站等。对话嘉宾也会分享他们的著作，写作题材和风格，尤其是他们的写作历程：他们是如何在其它领域有所建树后又成为作家的。

Author Biography 作者简介
Dr. Weizhong Cai: Ph.D.,Harvard postdoctoral fellow, pharmaceutical expert, lives in Long Island, NY. His works have been published in literary journals such as "The Era," "Shanghai Literature," "The Essay," "Hong Kong Literature," and "The Paper: Mirror Image." He has published three nonfiction books, This Water is Connected to the Other Shore, American Stories, and Chinese Couplets that Touch the Heart. He won the 12th Shanghai Literary Award in 2021. 蔡维忠：理科博士，哈佛博士后，新药研发专家，现居纽约长岛。作品发表于《当代》《上海文学》《散文》《香港文学》《澎湃·镜相》等海内外报刊杂志，曾在美国《侨报》和《北京晚报》辟有专栏，出版散文集《此水本来连彼岸》、随笔集《美国故事》和对联艺术专著《动人两行字》，获得第十二届《上海文学》奖散文奖。
Dr. Wenxin Li: Dr. Wenxin Li holds a Ph.D. in English from Purdue University and specializes in contemporary American literature. Currently, he is a professor at the State University of New York and a vice president of the American Association of Chinese Writers. 李文心毕业于北京第二外国语学院，后赴美国留学并获得普渡大学英语文学博士。现任纽约州立大学教授，北美中文作家协会副会长和财务长。
Jane Tang: Resides in New York, NY, and has a legal background. She writes short fiction stories and novellas in her spare time, which have been published in mainland China literary magazines Mountain Flowers, Xihu, Hong Kong Literature, Overseas Digest, The Selected Works of Taiwan-Hong Kong Literature, etc., one of which was awarded first prize by Sino-Monthly, North American. 唐简：居曼哈顿，法律背景，工作之余创作中短篇小说，作品曾发表于《山花》《西湖》《香港文学》《海外文摘》《台港文学选刊》等，曾获北美《汉新》月刊短篇小说一等奖。
Aiguo Ying： Mr. Ying was born in Jiangsu, China and currently resides in Syosset, NY with his wife and three children. He has published a novel A Woman Named Zhiqiu, a collection of short stories All Beautiful People Have Come to New York , as well as a poetry collection I Have Finally Lost the Freedom of Getting Lost. 应帆：江苏淮安人，现居纽约长岛。著作包括长篇小说《有女知秋》，中短篇小说集《漂亮的人都来纽约了》及诗集《我终于失去了迷路的自由》。
